How does the lease signing process work on Flatio?

Wonder how the lease signing process works on Flatio for both contractual sides? Check out this article to learn all the details!

After the landlord accepts a reservation request, the potential tenant signs the lease agreement online. This is one of the three steps in the lease signing process that must be completed within 24 hours of the landlord's acceptance of the reservation. Within these 24 hours, the accommodation won't be publicly visible on Flatio.

As part of the contract process, potential tenants go through the following steps:

  1. They fill out and sign the lease agreement that Flatio generates. The signing is done with an authorization code sent via SMS to the potential tenant's mobile number.
  2. They upload a copy of their identity card or passport.
  3. They submit the first rent payment (including the service fee).

Once the potential tenant has completed all these steps and the money has been credited to the Flatio collection account, the lease agreement becomes valid and the potential tenant is now the legal tenant. At this moment there's a valid contractual relationship between the landlord and the tenant.

If all three steps haven't been fulfilled within 24 hours and there's no other agreement between the landlord and the potential tenant, the landlord has the right to cancel the reservation. Here you can learn how to cancel a reservation.
