What do I write in my description of myself?

The article was updated on 23. 5. 2024.

Wonder why you should share some information about yourself or what could be mentioned in this introduction? See our guidance!

We encourage all tenants to fill in as much information about themselves as possible. This helps you as a landlord to understand the person behind the computer better and to gain trust in them, which is crucial when you're planning to rent them your property.

For the same reasons, tenants want to learn about you. We do not push on how much information you should share, but we recommend that you provide as much information about yourself as you would like to know about your tenants.

The more you share, the better! When tenants know something about you, they are more likely to create a reservation request for your property. You can mention, for example:

  • for how long you've been in the rental business,
  • why you're renting out the given accommodation(s),
  • who you are as a person (e.g., what you do for a living, what are your hobbies, etc.),
  • and anything else you think might interest the tenants.

Here's an example of a landlord's introduction:

I've been renting out my properties since 2016, focusing mainly on short-term rentals. I also teach yoga in Lisbon and in my free time, I like to go to cultural events, read, swim, and I'm currently learning how to surf. But my biggest passion is traveling! I've spent many years exploring the world, and that's also why I know how crucial it is that you have the perfect housing that suits all your needs during your time in a strange city. All of my apartments are fully prepared for your move-in, and I'll accommodate you personally. I'm very reachable, so if there's anything you need, don't hesitate to get in touch!
