When potential tenants sign up for Flatio, they are encouraged to include as much information about themselves as they can, including the reason they are seeking medium-term housing. We understand that landlords wish to feel secure in their choice of tenant - after all, you’re handing them the keys to your flat! So, for Czech applicants, we conduct a background check to see if their address is at the town hall, if they are listed on the insolvency register, or if there is any outstanding debt with a health insurance company. We do not yet have the means to check this information for non-Czech citizens.
However, if a potential tenant has already rented with Flatio, then you will be able to see if their former landlords considered them a good tenant. Our system calls on both parties to evaluate the counterparty at regular intervals.
