I stayed here for approximately two months and had an excellent experience.
The apartment is in a very convenient central location, close to Andrássy Avenue and well positioned for moving around Budapest. Public transportation, cafés, restaurants, and grocery stores are all nearby, with a SPAR within easy walking distance.
Kismező is located in the same building and served some of the best goulash I had during my stay. Personally, I preferred it to Mama Goulash, although that is naturally a matter of individual taste.
Despite the central location, the apartment was peaceful and quiet, which made it an especially good place for getting work done. The unit itself was comfortable for working, but the location also made it easy to set out in almost any direction and find a café or another suitable place to work within walking distance.
Communication with the host was consistently fast, responsive, and straightforward. Everything related to the stay was handled smoothly.
I highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a comfortable, quiet, and well-connected base in central Budapest. My stay was easily 5 out of 5.
Neighborhood
The neighborhood is very central and receives considerable tourist traffic, but inside the apartment this was hardly noticeable. I stayed during the 2026 Champions League final, when Budapest was especially busy and there were plenty of enthusiastic Arsenal supporters in the area, yet the apartment remained just as peaceful as it was on quieter days.
The area felt comfortable to walk around at night, including for a quick trip to one of the nearby 24-hour shops. Although I generally keep to myself, I found the neighborhood respectful, courteous, and welcoming. People regularly exchanged simple greetings, but I never felt pressured to be overly social. Overall, it is a relaxed, convenient, and highly recommended part of Budapest.
Recommended places nearby
The apartment feels as though it sits in the center of a small food and coffee scene, with excellent options in nearly every direction.
Kismező, located in the same building, is highly recommended for Hungarian food and served some of the best goulash I had in Budapest. Personally, I preferred it to Mama Goulash.
For breakfast or brunch, Teátrum Bistro, next to Kismező in the Operetta Theatre building, was an easy A+.
I would also recommend Café Zsivágó on Paulay Ede Street and TC Space Budapest Specialty Coffee on Dessewffy Street, which was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and comfortable for getting work done.
For coffee, Művész Kávéház and Café Muse, also referred to as MUSE2, were both easily among my top three places in Budapest. Café Muse is located on Sütő Street and is about a 10 to 15 minute walk away, which never felt far to me. % Arabica also served some of the best coffee I had anywhere.
Pizzica, immediately nearby, is difficult to walk past without being hit by the smell of freshly baked pizza. It is extremely inviting, and watching the staff cut and portion the pizza with scissors adds to the experience.
Honestly, there are too many good places to name. Walk in almost any direction and you are likely to find a café or restaurant within a few minutes that you will not regret trying.
