Si vienes a trabajar unos meses a Bilbao, no vas a necesitar coche.
This is a classic Bilbao apartment in Abando, the city center and its office district, in an early-1900s building that nobody has stripped of its character. The coffered ceiling keeps its original ceiling rose, and with it the moldings, the wooden baseboard and a period fireplace. The hardwood floor has just been sanded and treated.
The living room is the best part of the home: a floor-to-ceiling window, recently redone by the building's owners' association with double glazing, which fills the whole apartment with light. There are two bedrooms, the main one en suite with a large bed and its own spacious bathroom, and a second with two single beds, plus a second full bathroom and a kitchen of the kind they used to make. Second floor, with elevator.
It is designed to be lived in, not just passed through. The bedrooms face the back, the rooms are spacious enough that two or three people won't get in each other's way, and the fiber internet is connected and working from the day you arrive, so there is nothing to set up. Pets are allowed.
You arrive with a suitcase and that's it. Washing machine, dryer, kitchenware, bed linen and towels are all provided, and the gas heating is individual, so you control it. From the front door it is about a five-minute walk to Gran Vía and to Abando station, with the metro and tram right next to it, and the Old Town and the Guggenheim are a stroll along the river. If you come to work in Bilbao for a few months, you won't need a car.
This is not an apartment bought to rent out. It is a family home in Bilbao, furnished and cared for as such, and we rent it by the month to people who come to work or study, not to spend a weekend. That is why it is laid out the way it is, and why we prefer the right person for six months over a different one every week.
One thing worth knowing before you book: there is a bar on the ground floor of the building that is under renovation, with an estimated duration of about six months. The owners' association has installed the new double-glazed window and the apartment is well insulated, but we would rather tell you now than have you find out when you arrive.
The photos were taken before we finished the repairs we are doing, and some have virtual home staging on the bed linen and the plants. Ask us for them and we will send you photos taken this very week, or we can show you the whole apartment by video call.

Every time you rent through Flatio, you're automatically covered by our StayProtection package.
By booking this property, you'll also enjoy extended protection in the form of Stay Benefits - a unique offering backed by AXA! Here's what such packaging includes:
Once you send a booking request, the host is notified that you are interested in their listing. From that moment, they have 24 hours to approve or reject your booking.
Hosts are mainly interested in the profile of their guest. Do not forget to fill in all necessary information, add your profile picture, or even make a short video about yourself. Doing that will make you more attractive for the owner and your booking will more likely get approved.
You can take a look at the contract in advance and online with every listing. After you sign it, you will find it in the application My Housing.
While arranging a contract on Flatio, you do not have to worry that it could be disadvantageous for you. Our contracts are made so that we avoid all problems! All of them are the same, used by all the hosts on Flatio.
Your time is precious. That's why we've added a virtual tour option to our platform so you can see some of the rentals listed on Flatio from the comfort of your own home.
If a virtual tour isn't available for the accommodation you've chosen, you can contact the host and ask them if they're willing to give you a personal tour of the rental unit.
In the event that you move in and the rented accommodation doesn't match the information on Flatio, let us know as soon as possible!
If the conditions for the withdrawal are met and the host can't fix the issue immediately, you have the option to withdraw from the lease agreement with a full refund. We'll also actively help you find an alternative accommodation and remain by your side until everything is fully resolved.
You can read the conditions and all details about our Move-in Guarantee in this article of our Help Center.
How you can cancel a booking varies depending on what stage the booking is in.
Is your booking request still waiting for host approval? Then you can simply cancel it directly from your My Housing web app!
However, suppose the owner has already approved your booking request, and you are no longer interested in it. In that case, you can still cancel the booking before you sign the lease agreement. Just consider that you should do this only in essential cases. Because when the host accepts your booking, the property is stopped being advertised, and they can lose the chance to rent their property to someone else.
Do you have an approved booking and also a valid agreement? In order to cancel your booking, contact Flatio customer support well in advance of your contract beginning (the specific time and amount of refund depends on the type of cancelation policy).
