SOL House is a bright and comfortable two-story home, well suited for a family of four or five, as well as visiting researchers, academics, or professionals looking for a longer stay in Kyoto (located near the Karasuma line, one stop away from Doshisha main campus, a 20-minute bus ride from Ritsumeikan main campus, and Kyoto University - although it is very accesable with bicycles)
The ground floor features a kitchen, dining area, and living room, while the second floor has two bedrooms. The larger bedroom is furnished with a double bed, while the second bedroom has futons, providing flexible sleeping arrangements for children or additional family members. Both bedrooms feature traditional Japanese tatami. One of the bedrooms includes a working desk. The toilet and shower room are both located on the second floor, which makes it very convenient at night time:)
SOL House receives plenty of natural light and ventilation; the main windows face south, allowing natural light into the house throughout the day.

The house is tucked away in a quiet alley beside a beautiful canal lined with sakura trees. The canal runs north to south and provides a pleasant walking route, with particularly beautiful greenery and seasonal blossoms.
Kyoto Imperial Palace is only about a 7-minute walk away, giving you easy access to one of Kyoto’s largest green spaces for walking, jogging, picnics, or simply enjoying the gardens.
Daily life is very convenient, with three major supermarkets within approximately a 5-minute walk. Nijo Castle is also nearby, together with a traditional mochi shop and a lively local shopping street where you can discover cafés, small shops, pop-up galleries, live music, and a mix of old and contemporary Kyoto.
