What do I have to do to move into a selected rental accommodation?

It's quite simple. It all starts with making a booking request that lets the landlord know that you're interested in their rental property.

On the property listing page, you'll find a reservation request block, where you have to select the date range for which you need the selected property (Move-in and Move-out fields).

If you can select both dates, congratulations, the accommodation is most likely available in the desired period. When you select the start and end dates of your stay, the Flatio website will show you a detailed breakdown of the rental price including all fees.

If you're satisfied with what you see, the Reservation Request button will take you to the reservation process, where you'll need to fill in both the mandatory information (first name, last name, etc.) and personal information that the landlord will use to decide whether or not to approve the reservation request.

We therefore recommend that you provide as much information about yourself and the purpose of your stay as possible. A reservation request is basically your business card.

Once you've completed all the steps of the reservation process, the reservation request is sent to the landlord, who has 24 hours to approve or reject it.

In case of approval, the draft lease agreement is created and signed by the landlord at the time of approval.

Within 24 hours of approval, you must then complete the lease signing process, which includes:

  • Reading and signing the rental agreement (online with an authorization code)
  • Uploading a copy of your ID card
  • Paying the first rent along with the service fee

Once the lease signing process is completed and the money is physically credited to the Flatio collection account, the lease agreement becomes valid with all rights and obligations.

The lease agreement is concluded directly between you and the landlord, therefore all adjustments must be approved by the other party.

After the completion of the lease signing process, the contact channel with the landlord is activated in the My Housing web app--then nothing stands in the way of a direct negotiation with the landlord about the handover of the rental property.
