An interview with Eliott Bernard from France

28. may 2021 · 1 minute
Eliott Bernard is a 21-year-old bachelor student in the International Trade field. He’s originally from France but currently lives in Brno in the Czech Republic. Eliott moved to Brno through the Erasmus program that allows University mobility for European students. In today’s post of our Interview Series with students and landlords, Eliott will talk about how Flatio helped him find an accommodation suitable for his needs.

Flatio: How was your experience trying to find a short-term/mid-term rental? What were the main challenges?

Eliott: It took me some time to find mid-term rentals, as most of the flats were only available for short term rent only. The main challenge was to find a flat not too small neither too expensive, while I was looking for six months rent.

Flatio: Why did you choose Flatio, and how was your experience using the platform?

Eliott: I choose Flatio because it was one of the only websites where I can find relevant information on the price, the size of the flat, the Landlord and what was included in the price. I also choose it because my university recommended it as a reliable website.

I didn't face any difficulties during the booking process. The only point is I had to "book" in advance, without knowing if the landlord will accept. I was engaged without retracting rights. Maybe this can be improved.

Flatio: Anything you'd like to share about the neighbourhood, the food, places to visit, or something else?

Eliott: Unfortunately, all the shops were mostly closed. But the flat is nearby from the centre of Brno, which is convenient.

Flatio: What were the main benefits of renting through Flatio, in your opinion?

Eliott: I would say the contract that assures you security and knowledge of your rights. Also, the website is intuitive, so easy to use.

Flatio: What are the next steps for you?

Eliott: I plan to keep travelling after my stay in Brno. And if I'm in need to find a flat, I would consider using Flatio again as I have a good experience with it so far.
