June performances in Budapest

Music performances in Budapest are going to be wild this June.

Two great bands play on June 7th:

  • My Chemical Romance in Budapest Park
  • Iron Maiden in Groupama Aréna

June 15th will see Red Hot Chilly Peppers playing in Puskás Ferenc Stadion and June 21st will welcome to the stage the famous Korn.

And any pop lovers cannot miss out on the once in a lifetime opportunity to see Celine Dion playing the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna on June 27th.

Lastly, on June 28th you can see the hipster darling alt-J in Budapest Park.

Between June 29th and July 2nd, you can enjoy the Kolorádó Fesztivál 2022 in the Sztrilich Pál Cserkészpark where you’ll see both local and international artists.

Also, between June 3rd and the 12th, there’s the Danube Folk Carnival where you can enjoy hundreds of performers of music and dance both from Hungary and from abroad. The festival takes place on Margaret Island, the Chain Bridge, and many other places.

June cultural festivals in Budapest

June 25th will see the traditional Night of the Museums. A single adult ticket for €5 will buy you admission to all the major museums in Budapest and it also serves as a bus ticket for a special bus that will drive you between the museums.

Hungary also loves wine, so there are not one but two wine festivals to enjoy. From June 3rd to the 5th you can enjoy the Tokaji Wine Days on the Kossuth Square and between June 10th and the 12th, there’s the Rosalia Festival with nearly 60 wineries serving delicious wines to taste.

Lastly, we absolutely have to tell you about the Hungarian Motion Picture Festival. Taking place a bit outside of Budapest in Veszprém by the Lake Balaton from June 9th to the 12th, you can expect everything from traditional films to the current stars of the Hungarian red carpet.

The event will be playing movies, TV shows, and animation as well as hosting gastronomy events, exhibitions, activities for kids and much more. The extended weekend will be full to bursting with great things to do.

Budapest museum exhibitions in June

The Hungarian National Gallery will have an exhibition of Art Deco Budapest Posters from the years between 1925 and 1938 as well as an exhibition of the art by Hungarian artists in the Parisian Nights during 1925 called Dance.

And the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest will display The Enigmatic World of Hieronymus Bosch exhibition which will display over ninety works by the Dutch artist.
