Flatio extends its zero-fee policy for Madeira landlords to celebrate the extension of the Digital Nomads Madeira Islands initiative. As announced on the 27th of May by official representatives of the Digital Nomads Madeira Islands project, it will be extended for three more years due to the excellent results after the first period.

Flatio, a mid-term rental marketplace, as an official partner of this project, decided to celebrate this news by extending its zero-fee policy for Madeira landlords. Flatio has become the official partner of the Digital Nomads Madeira Island project at the beginning of 2021 and committed to supporting local landlords on their journey to renting their properties for a few months to digital nomads with a zero-fee policy with no entry cost for the whole year 2021.

"Based on this great announcement, we decided to grant all already onboarded landlords and all new landlords that onboard their properties with Flatio before the end of June 2021 an extra six months without any fees", announced Radim Rezek, CEO of Flatio. "At the same time, all landlords with an active advertisement at the end of June 2021 will get the opportunity to obtain free virtual tours of their properties and get a free ebook revealing strategy of combining short term and mid-term rentals", added Rezek.

Digital Nomads have created 928 reservations in Madeira through Flatio with a typical length of 30 days stays. Digital Nomads are looking for rentals not only in Ponta do Sol or Funchal but also in other cities of Madeira, like Calheta, Santa Cruz, Caniço, Canhas, Quinta Grande, São Vicente or Câmara de Lobos. "We see Madeira as a top world destination for Digital Nomads, and we believe it will become one of our most important markets, and numbers of reservations will continue to grow over the next years", highlighted Rezek.

The news about extending the Digital Nomads Madeira Islands initiative was announced on the official Slack channel of the project with almost 2.000 members, where Flatio offers support to all Digital Nomads looking for accommodation. Flatio support team was also expanded with a local Madeira citizen during May to deliver the best service. "We appreciate the feedback we are receiving from landlords in Madeira. Thanks to that, we implemented an option for tenants that allow them to split payments with roommates, to avoid sublettings of villas and houses, and we've tailored our service also for hotels," said Henrique Santana the project manager for Madeira.

Flatio is a fully online solution for mid-term rentals focused on digital nomads and remote workers present in several countries in Europe and constantly growing. "To cooperate with professionals like Gonzaclo Hall and Startup Madeira representatives, Carlos Soares Lopez and Micaella Viera, is an amazing experience, and we are excited that the project has been prolonged and we can continue offering monthly stays for digital nomads in Madeira," said Rezek.

ABOUT FLATIO - Flatio specializes in offering accommodation for a few months, and its services are suitable especially for remote workers and digital nomads. Flatio's main idea is to connect the real estate business with the most advanced technology, and by doing so, make the entire rental process significantly easier. The company also aims to avoid the deep-rooted stereotypes of real estate agencies:

  • Deposits
  • The need for in-person visits to properties
  • The requirement for in-person contract signatures

Apartment tours are done in VR, contracts are signed online, and finally, payments can be made online by card, too, thanks to a unique application. Flatio wants its services to be as simple, fast, and as comfortable as possible for both parties involved. In 2020 Flatio acquired all real estate activities of Portuguese startup NomadX.
