For most Digital Nomads living in Budapest is the best option, because it ticks most of the boxes from the prices, the best restaurants, and fitness centres to easy transport across the city, and much more to explore during your stay.

Are you deciding to move into this wild and beautiful capital of Hungary for a couple of months, and you are already looking for some mid-term rentals or other kinds of accommodation? In this article, you can find some useful information about how to find the right accommodation for your trip.

Location of your mid-term rental in Budapest

Budapest will offer you a variety of different neighbourhoods and districts from which to choose your new home for a few months. The Danube River divides the capital, splitting it into two main areas, Buda on the west bank and Pest on the east bank. Pest is more known as the business and working side and consists of 16 districts, while Buda is comprised of six districts and is a residential area where most of the American ex-pats choose to move in due to its quietness and green spaces.

There is one particular district called “Csepel”, which is an island in the Danube River. It belongs neither to the Buda side nor the Pest.

Prices of mid-term rentals in Budapest

The prices of mid-term rentals in Hungary’s capital city depend on which district you’ll choose to move in. The 5th district is currently considered the most expensive area, being followed by the 2nd, 1st, 12th and 6th districts.

Budapest is a lot cheaper in comparison to many other cities in Europe, so finding affordable accommodation is not hard. The average monthly rental cost for a 1-bedroom is around 130 000 HUF (forint) in the city centre and around 95 000 HUF outside of it. These prices in the exchange rate are about €420 and €300 respectively.
