Let’s begin with the aforementioned cat cafés. In Brno, there are three - Pelíšek, Envi café and Mňau Café&Bar.

  • Pelíšek – a café where you can, apart from drink and eat the delicious coffee and cakes, adopt a cat or two. All of the cats are from shelters and waiting for their adoption here. You can get to know your new cat during the visit and check out in advance whether you two are a good “fit“ :)
  • Envi Café – here, you can meet a stable cat “staff“ where 8 lovely cats are going to keep you company. The rules are clear – if the cat wants to be petted, pet it, if it doesn’t, let it sleep in peace.
  • Mňau Café & Bar – a café with a garden and four cat companions. Of course, you can pet the cats here too, but only if they want you to.

Kavárna Era (Era café)

This café is a gem amongst, not only all of Brno‘s, but all of the Czech Republic‘s cafés. It is a functionalist piece of architecture where the dominant feature is a blue-red staircase in the shape of a helix that connects the two floors of the café. Visiting this café is an experience you can’t miss during your Brno visit.

Zemanova kavárna – Pavilon (Pavilon – Zeman’s café)

Another of Brno’s functionalist cafés was built not once, but twice. The original building was torn down due to the construction of Janáčkovo divadlo (Janáček’s theater), but after 30 years, it was built again according to the original construction plans and later, renamed to Pavilon. Apart from a rich history, it offers a gourmet culinary experience including self-made pastries.

If you need to get coffee with your children as well, you can visit a café with a children’s section. Apart from the internet connection and delicious coffee, you can find a changing table, high chairs and plenty of toys here!

  • Sampalero – traditional Italian Pascucci coffee and Italian desserts. And a multi-floor section for children with a slide, ball pit and other toys!
  • Children’s café Žirafka – another great café for children, you can find a bouncy house, slides, a trampoline or a coloring table here :)
