Public Places for Remote Work in Valencia

1. may 2022 · 2 minute

Valencia, a centre of food and art in Spain, is one of the best places to be as a remote worker right now. But many feel that even though they work from home, they still don’t have enough time to explore their new surroundings. Why not do both at once? Work in public spaces like cafés, libraries and parks and you will experience your new home while dutifully meeting deadlines. Here’s where to go and why.

Cafés for remote work in Valencia

Valencia is a great place for delicious food so it’s no wonder many digital nomads decided to work in bars, cafés, and restaurants all over the town. Cafés especially attract them for their laid-back atmosphere, pleasant company, and an inexhaustible supply of caffeine. But which places are the best?

There’s Artysana, a cosy little café in the Ruzafa neighbourhood. Not only is the place expat-owned, but it also organises coworking events and actively welcomes digital nomads from all over the world. Ubik is another great place. Half bookshop, half café, Ubik is great for long hauls of work. And its strong Wi-Fi together with a few digital nomad events sprinkled in will make you come back again and again. For a good brunch and a nice working environment, try the Bluebell Café and if you don’t mind spaces that can get a bit loud, then Bastard Coffee and Kitchen will also be a great choice. There are many more places like these, of course, but we’ll leave those for you to find on your own. It’s half the fun.

Libraries for remote work in Valencia

Libraries are a great alternative to working in a café. They are much quieter, have easier access to electric sockets, and usually have a lot of space to sit. There are a few drawbacks: you cannot work on group projects there and the Wi-Fi can be a bit slower. Overall, however, they are a great place to really focus and get some work done without any distractions.

The Joanot Martorell Public Library and Museum surrounded by the beautiful Marchalenes Park is a great place to start. If you’re in the Petxina neighbourhood, take advantage of their public library close to the Turia metro station. If you’re looking for a large library in the city centre, look no further than the Public Library of Valencia or try the much smaller and cosier Public Library of Carles Ros. With over thirty public libraries, Valencia will always have a place for you to work.

Public parks for remote work in Valencia

Working remotely means working from anywhere, so why not a beautiful public park? Grab a charged device of your choice, get some mobile data and make a hotspot on your phone and enjoy some refreshing warm sun and fresh air.

With nearly 30 000 flowerpots, the bridge of Puente de las Flores over the river Turia is a great spot for work. Inspiring not just in its design but also in the view it provides, there’s no place in Valencia quite like it. Parque de Cabecera offers a great view of the city and has snaking paths where you can have some peace and quiet while the Parque Central offers romantic surroundings for when you need a truly inspirational space. Make your remote working experience fresh again and work outside.
