Best Vegan & Vegetarian Restaurants in Prague

20. august 2021 · 2 minute
Over the years, vegan and vegetarian cuisine hasn’t just been accepted by the wider public, but it has become an everyday part of the culinary scene in Europe. But even then, Prague is something else.

There are too many good vegan and vegetarian restaurants to count, and their variety will surprise you. So here are just a few places that had our mouths watering.

Palo Verde

One of the most versatile restaurants in Prague is the Palo Verde. You can have waffles and vegan croissants (very rare in Prague), delicious coffee, and vegan desserts for breakfast. The main dishes for lunch and dinner are mostly pasta dishes, like Beyond Beef ravioli or lasagna Bolognese.

You can have a glass of organic wine with your meal, and as a starter, you can try their homemade vegan tapas. This place has everything you could want and is a great place for dates or just for catching up with a friend.

Moment Kavarna & Bistro

This place is a cosy café and bistro with a wide selection of coffee and deserts and small snacks and full meals. For a quick bite, you can have the Bagel Seitan with vegan cheese, for lunch you can enjoy vegan Svíčková (a traditional Czech dish with meat/tofu, sauce, and dumplings), or you can just come in the evening and have a beer or a glass of delicious wine. It has a lively community of regulars and friendly staff, so you definitely won’t be either hungry or lonely.

Forrest Bistro

Forrest Bistro is often recommended, and for a good reason. Its Czech-Asian fusion foods are indeed something to savour. They also offer a breakfast menu that has items like tofu scrambled or a chickpea omelette. But many people come here for the relaxed atmosphere and delicious coffee. If you want to huddle down with a book, or you’re a digital nomad, and you’re looking for a nice place to work, this is your spot.

Shromaždiště

Shromaždiště (meaning “meeting place” in Czech) is one of the more traditionally-minded places. But don’t be deterred by the pub-like décor or the wide beer tap. This place offers delicious Czech beer and drinks alongside such snacks as beer-battered hot dogs, soy curls, zucchini fries and much more. While not a place for a quiet romantic date, it is the number one place for groups for friends on a Friday night. Maybe reserve a table first.

Loving Hut

A personal favourite, Loving Hut, is a larger worldwide chain with a few branches in Prague. The restaurant offers classic Vietnamese vegan cuisine like pho, spring rolls, and so on. Where this place truly shines is its buffet. With a wide selection of deliciously prepared foods, all you need to do is put it all on your plate, and you will pay based on the overall weight of your dish. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite or you want to try out a bit of everything, Loving Hut is the place for you.
